A photo can capture a million things, but as many as you see in this photo I see more.
Where you see beautiful landscape, I see summer days as a child. I see one of the most beautiful, serene places I have ever seen. But more than that, I see memories flash by my eyes all in one instant.
Where you see a peaceful lake, I see afternoons of playing frisbee between the docks with my dad and throwing so poorly that I gave him the workout of his life. I see hours spent fishing on the boat, often catching nothing but a sunburn and a few laughs. I see my dad finally giving in to another skiing and tubing session even though its already raining. I see the most refreshing waters, perfect for a morning swim after the 8am water-snake finishes his route.
Where you see blue sky, I see it from a nearby mountain top that we used to hike up every year. I see my mom and I kayaking, watching the eagles in the sky from the perspective of the water. I see thunderstorms right over the little cabin where we stayed, and a bolt of lightening hitting a nearby tree. I see my parents and I curled up under the protection of the porch playing card games and listening to Bolero.
Where you see a picture, I feel longing.
Do you have a place like that?
