A photo can capture a million things, but as many as you see in this photo I see more.
Where you see beautiful landscape, I see summer days as a child. I see one of the most beautiful, serene places I have ever seen. But more than that, I see memories flash by my eyes all in one instant.
Where you see a peaceful lake, I see afternoons of playing frisbee between the docks with my dad and throwing so poorly that I gave him the workout of his life. I see hours spent fishing on the boat, often catching nothing but a sunburn and a few laughs. I see my dad finally giving in to another skiing and tubing session even though its already raining. I see the most refreshing waters, perfect for a morning swim after the 8am water-snake finishes his route.
Where you see blue sky, I see it from a nearby mountain top that we used to hike up every year. I see my mom and I kayaking, watching the eagles in the sky from the perspective of the water. I see thunderstorms right over the little cabin where we stayed, and a bolt of lightening hitting a nearby tree. I see my parents and I curled up under the protection of the porch playing card games and listening to Bolero.
Where you see a picture, I feel longing.
Do you have a place like that?
Weirdly, for me it is smells. Lavender takes me back to my Nan’s walnut dressing table, and the powder puffs in circular containers. The soft hair brushes, and the mirrors.

That’s not weird at all! Lavender is a lovely smell too : )

I don’t actually have ‘a’ picture which is so special for me, but rather it’s a genre of pictures. I’m really fond of wildlife and love capturing it whenever possible. Then, when I look back at those, they tell me so much more than just a snapshot. They tell a story. A story of that innocent creature prancing around.

That’s awesome : ) are there any particular creatures that seem to capture your attention the most?

I’m fond of all wildlife in general, but if I want to go for favourites, it would be squirrels because their eyes seem very expressive. Plus they are definitely cute! Then come deer. It’s their ears and stature which give them a story. Then the birds, be they perched on a branch or in flight, they remind you of precision and freedom. Finally are some candid ‘big cats’. Like I’ve once shot a Lion licking it’s nose. Looks pretty hilarious!

Hello!
I just wanted to tell you that your post really inspired me to write a post of my own based on the very same idea that photographs are so much more than just an image.
Also I’ve told my readers my inspiration. One of the made a request that they wanted to see the post which inspired mine (i.e. this one) & suggested I post a link to the same.
You can read my post and let me know accordingly. It’ll be my pleasure to link your post! 🙂 ✌️
