My Brain Is Fried, But It Was Worth It

I’ve spent the last few weeks pouring over so many words that my brain can’t compute or spit out anymore.

Between work, holidays, and my urge to finish my book, my brain is as fried as my eggs this morning.

I am very excited to have gotten so far as to finish a draft of my first novel. By that I mean, I finished it and edited it enough to the point where I let a few others read it.

Which is not easy. I feel like I am going to puke.

Anyone else feel that way about their writing? It was hard enough starting this blog!

But I can make things!!

In my determination to reach this point these last few weeks, I haven’t written on my blog as much. Now that I have a break from my novel writing, I wanted to jump right back into writing more short stories on here and …. nothing.

But it was worth it, I accomplished something big, and as much as I am afraid it is terrible, I am proud of all that writing! Even if it is terrible, I learned something from it, and my next one will be better. Practice practice practice!

I need recharge time to regain some sanity. Hopefully, my dreams will provide some writing inspiration unless my brain is too fried for that too.

  4. Congratulations, Melanie!! 🙂 Enjoy this time for relaxing and don’t force your brain…it’ll kick back into routine again soon, I’m sure!
    And trust me, I am ALWAYS a nervous wreck when allowing my friends to read my stuff. Ugh! I think it’s gotten a bit better since I’ve been blogging…but another thing? I still haven’t gotten over my unwavering doubt if something is decent or not. Oh well! I think it’s a writer thing… 😉😆
