What Is Love?

Today is Valentine’s Day.

And it is also my birthday! I am 24 today. Though it really doesn’t feel like it. Am I really an adult?? I don’t feel qualified for this. I may be married and have a house, but that doesn’t mean I know what I’m doing (just like this adorable dog playing monopoly). I’m kind of just winging it. But that’s life! We figure it out as we go along.

Anyway, on this day of celebrating love, I tried to think of something to write. But I think the best writing on love has already been written and is read at many wedding ceremonies. There are writings that express what love is, but my favorite of all is 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Spread the love : )

  1. Baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me… No more. Lol this always pops into my mind after hearing the words ‘what is love?’. Also, a big happy birthday! Adulting is very confusing, it’s a mix of pretending to know while you’re doing whole screaming on the inside. My parents have told me that they don’t really know how to adult and that we are all really just children inside
